The pages contained in this section, provide a selection of cases that either specifically deal with Non-Status Indians or have decisions which could impact on their rights and identity indirectly through other issues the cases addressed. You will note that some of the cases listed below deal with Métis issues, but I have included them because of how the court arrived at its decision or the similarity in decisions with Non-Status Indian cases.
There is also a list of cases from the Supreme Court of Canada that have some particular impact to Non-Status Indians even if the case was not specifically about Non-Status Indians. Similarly, I have included some cases that I am "watching" because they either have or may affect the rights and interests of Non-Status Indians in the future.
